The Andorran Railway Route, also known as the Iron Route due to its Spanish translation, is one of the best family hiking excursions that can be done in our country. For several reasons: it is easy to do and combines nature with culture, society and economy, which will lead to a visual understanding of one of the most important activities in the country from the 17th century to the end of the 19th century: metallurgy.

This railway route has as its starting point the town of Llorts, in the parish of Ordino. It is a linear route of about 4.2 km (8.4 km round trip), the first part with a favorable slope and the second with a slight climb (elevation difference of 126 meters). The path signage is red and white, typical of the GR11. The total duration of this tour is just over 2 hours. In addition, the Iron Route can also be done on horseback, from Ransol to Arans, passing through the Mina dels Meners.

  • Ordino Arcalís

    Address:
    Edifici Hortell, Ctra. d'Arcalís, AD300 Ordino .

Ordino Arcalís, the northernmost ski area in Andorra, has 30.5 km of slopes that adapt to all skiing levels.

The Ordino Arcalís ski resort is one of the most famous in Andorra and southern Europe. Despite not having as many skiable kilometers as the sum of the Grandvalira or Pal Arinsal sectors, the truth is that it brings together a series of unique characteristics that make it the favorite of many skiers and freeriders.

These enviable characteristics have to do with its geographical position and orography, giving rise to slopes for all levels with extraordinary snow quality. Its great popularity is also motivated by the infrastructure installed on the ground: chairlifts, ski lifts and even a cable car to easily move between the different ski places.

If you want to enjoy skiing at the highest level, the Ordino Arcalís resort awaits you in the heart of the Pyrenees, specifically in the parish of Ordino, in the extreme north of our country.
